Our News

I had a doctor's appointment this morning and a sonogram. The best news of all is that this baby looks very healthy and is measuring right on track. It is truly amazing to watch this little person in you squiggle around. And I know what we are having. It is a ...

The Feasting Has Begun...

And will continue until Santa comes. Ha! Beck's school had his feast on Tuesday. Here he is as "Laughing Lion". His first choice for an Indian name was "Hamburger Hair" but I voted no on that, which was funny because Ben seriously thought that would be a fine name.

Briggs had his feast on Thursday so luckily I was able to be at both boy's events with no problems. And even though most of these pictures look like his mouth was full of yummy goodness, he barely ate anything and spit some back out. Oh, this picky boy...

The highlight was the feather-blowing game. Happy feasting to all of you! Gobble gobble!

I Blinked!

Is it possible that 5 years ago today I had this precious baby and he has now turned into this precious boy, in the blink of an eye?

I decided to do a 5 year old interview-totally off the cuff this morning. It is interesting to hear his answers, some surprised me. I will try to ask the same questions every year and see how things change. I love, love, love him, and feel so blessed that he made me a Mommy for the first time 5 years ago.

Detective too

You know how Moms are always labeling themselves as things like: short-order cook, maid, chauffeur, nurse...etc. Well, I am adding detective to the list. Briggs is a bit behind on articulation of words (in my expert opinion) and I attribute that to 2 years of the paci which is now gone. He talks a lot, but you just cannot always understand him. Also, sometimes I forget that even though he is small, he is a person and is processing everything! He is connecting, learning and again, in my expert opinion he is pretty darn smart. So the other night we were reading an Arthur book and here is what it looks like: He kept adamantly pointing and saying "car". I look around and see no cars. The book has nothing to do with cars. Hhmmm...can you figure it out? CHECKERED FLAG -from a car race. He loves the movie Cars so that is what he thought of. Two year olds amaze me sometimes. :-)

On two different notes...1) I have no excuse for why your favorite funny man didn't blog yesterday. and 2) I love me some boys in argyle:

A little Preggo Talk

I am not quite sure it is really cute the third time around, but I need to be documenting it. Let me just say in the past I have loved everything about being pregnant. The boys pregnancies were pretty identical. I felt pretty good with the exception of heartburn from the get-go. I felt like I had a glow about me and I was happy as could be, blissful really. This time around I have been exhausted!! I have had greasy/dry face...it is so weird with break-outs too, but definitely not a good glow. I have been a grump bucket (no comments on this statement, please Ben), but still am so excited and blessed to be pregnant.
So here I am last Thursday...I am 16 weeks now. I just cannot believe how quickly I popped. With Beck I was itching to wear maternity clothes and "show" so I started wearing them at 20 weeks even though I really didn't need them. With Briggs I think I started to change at about 16 weeks but was okay a couple more weeks in regular clothes. This time around, um...like 10 weeks I felt like I looked pregnant. I know everyone says you get bigger faster with each one and I am a believer now. I look at this and think, "Oh good grief I am not even half way!" And after looking at this picture, I am pretty certain that some of that baby is storing itself in my face. Well, bring on the halloween candy and the turkey and dressing folks!

Guest Blogger: Glam Metal Forever

There’s nothing like buying a pair of size 2x black tights in Target. I was seriously disappointed they had none in hot pink. This year I took 3rd place in my work Halloween costume contest. I was going for “Glam Metal” glory days. When I was in middle school my parents never let me watch MTV…this is what happens...
It took about 2 hours to explain to Jaime what “look” I was going for. Three guys in this world understand..Erick A., Jordan E. and Josh B. Everyone else probably thinks - Big Girl.

The only pair of jeans I had to Glam up were 2 sizes too small. Soooo Jaime let me borrow her pregnancy “stretchy band thing” that covers your waist and lets your britches stay open and happy. The only bad thing, my wig kept getting stuck in my lipstick and my pants ripped more and more as the day progressed.
After lunch and the contest I went to the gym to change into regular clothes but forgot my dress pants AND didn’t realize eye liner doesn’t wash off easy. I went the rest of the day looking like a rather nice, professional homeless guy with sexy eyes.

Beck wanted a turn to rock out….and he did.

Fall Fun

October always seems to fly by and since we have added t-ball into the mix, Saturdays are booked. So, we opted to just go a couple blocks away to the local nursery that has a fun pumpkin patch, bouncy house, and little maze. The kids had fun! Sometimes simple works just fine.
